Short Stack Challenge Week 1
Week one did not go as swimmingly as I had hoped. Ending the week down $36 after starting on an upswing was a little disheartening. I did manage to try a few different strategies though and I’m going to work on refining a few things during week 2.
To start with, only play solid starting hands. When playing short stack you simply don’t have the chips to try anything speculative. Sure you might get lucky and hit something for a big pot, but if your looking to get lucky with a hand, don’t play it.
Twenty big bets is enough to see a flop for a standard raise but if nothing pans out on the flop you simply don’t have the chips to continue with the hand.
Other players will call your all in with weak holdings. Try to get all in as soon as possible in the hand. Preflop is fine but the flop is better.
That’s it, I’ll incorporate these items for this week and see how it goes.
