A quick perusal of the poker bloggershpere today reveals that Scott Fischman (pro poker player) induced a large amount of life tilt last night. During the Blogger Big Game (which was livecast here at LAG) Scott made some, shall we say, suspect plays. These plays gave him a huge chip stack and the eventual win.
I myself induced some life tilt on Sirfwalgman. During the second hour I rivered a straight against flopped trips and his vitriol spewed forth. When Sirfwalgman raised and another player smooth called I knew I was going to push the flop before I even completed my Big Blind. Nevertheless perceived donkery is still donkery no matter the reasoning.
I should be home from work in time for the Math tonight so I’ll be livecasting my play again. Join me here and then head over to the chatroom for a discussion of the game.
Starting with tomorrow nights Big Game I will be streaming all of my poker play via uStream.tv
You will be able to see my tables and stare at my ugly mug. There is a chatroom associated to the feed that will be open on my page at uStream. You will also be able to watch the video live from within this blog page.
Come join me and see if you can read me. Am I bluffing? Can you tell?
I went back to what I know best for the last few weeks and I can tell you it sure feels nice to actually win.
With the BBT3 upon us I had to take a hard look at my bankroll. I’m playing pretty thin and unless I won an event early I wouldn’t last long. With that in mind I’ve decided I’m not going to play any of the events unless I can win my buy in first playing SNG’s. I’m happy to report that I have already registered for the Big Game on Sunday and I plan on making some noise.
Here are my SNG graphs for the month. I’ve only played 50 so far but I’m outpacing my previous ROI when I played this level in the past.
I’ve been watching for online bargains in an attempt to find a new laptop to replace my aging Dell. What I really wanted to buy was a Powerbook Pro but two things… cost and lack of Vista support meant I had to find a windows machine. With my new and hopefully successful career as a home PC support guy, most of my clients (when I get clients) will more than likely be on either XP or Vista machines. I needed to familiarize myself with Vista as well as be able to dual boot both it and XP.
I had settled on looking at refurbished machines as I felt that would give me the most bang for my buck and still be able to have a decent machine. This lead to spending a lot of time refreshing pages from wholesalers since this type of inventory moves quickly.
I’ve owned AT&T(yes they used to make laptops), Toshiba, and Dell in the past but I’ve heard good things about Acer and wanted to give it a try. As luck would have it I found the best deal on a new machine and oddly enough at a Best Buy. I now have an Acer Extensa 5620 and even though it’s not a top of the line machine it is infinitely more powerful than my old machine and capable of running WoW just fine. (that was important criteria, my old laptop couldn’t show all the texture maps. I often wouldn’t see the mini map and the terrain was always just colored square patches, no roads, no nothing.)
At any rate I’m now enjoying my new toy and will be playing poker on it for the first time today.
I wish I knew how to win right now. I managed to donk out of the HUC losing two straight to Highonpkr.
I also can't seem to get my head above water in the SNG's right. I'm only down a small amount but with my recent withdrawal I may have overestimated my risk of ruin.
I have a bad tendency to lose when I'm feeling the pressure to win.
Light bulb moment: I finally realized as I'm writing this why that is. Bad beats affect me more when I feel the pressure. I literally cussed at the computer during play tonight which is something I rarely ever due. Hmmm maybe writing in this blog still has value after all. Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
I think this may be my first post this month. It will also be my last. I’m on vacation and will be out of town the rest of the month so no poker or blog for me. This month poker has taken a back seat and I’ve only been playing the bare minimum of four SNG’s a day. I had to play these whether I wanted to or not so I could maintain my continued Iron Man status at Full Tilt. Thankfully I’ve been running good and have a 21% ROI for the few I’ve played.
The TV featured in the photo was delivered to my house today thanks to the Pokerlistings treasure hunt. I managed to win first prize (a drawing, no actual poker skill required) which was a 52” Sony Bravia LCD. This baby is sweet and it’s something I never would have bought on my own. It will replace our aging 29” Zenith which we bought at Sears nine years ago. Adding this to the Cruise I won in a freeroll, and the two NUTZ card protectors I won during the Bluff Poker Tour and poker has indeed been very very good to me.
